Home

Tonight I am home from my fun weekend with my college friends. :) I am home with my wonderful hubby (who has been working on something special of his own...blog to come), and to my begging beagle, and my two crazy big dogs. I am home with a VERY full belly, and back to work as usual. :)

Among the many fun things that we got into this weekend, fondue is on the top of the list. :) We had a full menu:

1. cheese fondue with bread, apples, french fries

2. Meat fondue...shrimp, chicken, steak with many various sauces (my favorite was shrimp and teriyaki sauce)

3. Chocolate fundue...which was really the main point of doing fondue at all...with oreos, marshmallows, cheesecake, fruit, and pretty much anything else that would fit in the pot. :)

We had a great time making and eating fondue...Jeremy and I are going to try it here one time! Thanks girls (and guys) for a fun and memorable weekend!)

Girlfriend Fun

This is a special weekend with a few of my college girlfriends (and hubbies) in North Carolina. :) After a rocky start (which involved getting airsick on a very small plane...nasty!!!), I made it here last night. We stayed up too late talking, and got up too early!!! It is so much fun to get to spend time with friends.
This afternoon, the girls surpirsed me with a baby shower. One of my friends, Crystal, is pregnant too...we we got to share in the fun together. :)
We have lots of eating and shopping on the weekend agenda, so hopefully I can keep the camera shooting for all the fun! Happy Friday!

Extreme Couponing

Ok, so here are my Rite Aid and Walgreen's steals this week. For the record, we didn't clear the shelves...they were good and stocked up...so there was guilt free shopping!

Total spent out of pocket: $62.44
Total coupon savings: $234.31

Jeremy came with me for Extreme Couponing this week...I needed him to open up a Rite Aid card...and he had a good time! Besides, what if the baby comes during a great sale week at Rite Aid? Jeremy needs to learn how to coupon! :)

Here is what we got: :)

8 packages of Huggies, various sizes
2 Betty Crocker Muffin Mix
2 Betty Crocker Brownie
2 Benefiber singles (for the record...these really work!!!)
3 cans of beans
2 Oreo's
2 Big Pantine Conditioners
2 Right Guard Body Wash
2 Gain dish soap
1 Visine Eye Drops
2 Blink Eye Drops
17 various Johnson and Johnson products (Noah will be washing with this till he is 25)
1 box of tampons
1 -28 count hair ties
It was so fun...and we got tons of daily-use stuff!!! Now we do have a question of where to store the stash. Do you think there any space in the shop for diapers?

Catch Up

Rio is having a sick day. We don't know what is up with him, but based on the smell of his farts, he probably has a stomach bug of sorts. He is really clingy and needy, and he keeps on acting like he is trying to tell us something, we just don't know what! Hopefully he will perk up soon!
We disappeared from blog world for a few days because we were being SOCIAL! It is so nice to be done with the house and get to enjoy friends, old and new. :) (I didn't take any pictures for the blog because I was trying not to scare our new friends away so soon.)

On Thursday, a girl from my bible study group invited us over for dinner and games. It was so nice to get to know new friends (and play Monopoly Deal)!!!
On Friday, Jeremy's boss turned 40, so the squadron had a party for him. We had a great time...ps...when did we get too old to stay up till 11pm? :) That sure snuck up on us!
On Saturday a couple from Jeremy's work invited us over for dinner...they smoked pork and chicken and made their own BBQ sauce! It was SO good! They have two kids and they sent us home with a bag full of boy stuff! :)

Seriously though, does it get any cuter than this???
Last week, Jeremy had a long week of 4am show times. He gets the day off tomorrow to recover, celebrate President's day (i.e. work on Noah's dresser), and tomorrow after work I will blog about my Rite Aid Massacre of the week. :) Happy Sunday!

Another Good Week at Rite Aid

This week was another good couponing week at Rite Aid. I got all of these products... 4 2-packs of lightbulbs, 2 boxes of Frosted Flakes, 2 cans of chili, 2 Dove Deodorant, 4 bags of chex mix, 1 box of Gain dryer sheets, 2 tubes of toothpaste, 1 box of eyedrops and 2 boxes of Ziplock baggies...for about $11 out of pocket! We use all of these products, so I was super excited to score these great deals.

Have I mentioned that I love couponing!?!?! :) Next week at Rite Aid is supposed to be ever better...diapers and baby shampoo!!! Can't wait!!! I may actually have to go on Sunday so all the good stuff isn't gone! I think Jeremy might get a card opened up in his name this week too, so we can hit the $100 again! Yeah for good deals!

Today, one of my sweet, sweet patients came by with a gift for me. He and his wife brought Noah this beautiful baby quilt...hand stitched, and just so special!!! It was such an honor to receive this thoughtful gift. Isn't it beautiful!?!?!? :)

Noah's Crib

We picked up Noah's crib Saturday in Birmingham at Buy Buy Baby. Last night, Jeremy and I (well, mostly Jeremy...I was just support services) put it together. Aileron joined in for the fun too, although he will probably get really mad when he finds out who is going in there. We had a little bit of a rough start since one of the holes wasn't drilled straight, but Jeremy fixed it. Jeremy informed me "how awesome he was, and that it was lucky that we got this crib, because if someone else, not-so-awesome, had gotten it, they wouldn't have been able to put it together". So, we got that all straightened out and got our new sheets and bumper on the crib! We are all ready for you Noah...keep cooking. :)

Big City Fun

We had a fun weekend in Birmingham! Jeremy and I headed out yesterday for the big city :). We hit up all the major stores that we don't have: Buy Buy Baby, Target, PetSmart, and Ross! :)
Buy Buy Baby= to pick up Noah's crib.
Target=a baby gift for a shower next weekend,
PetSmart= dog food and 3 new collars for the pups. They were out of a new food ball for Beagle, so I guess we will have to look online.
Ross= 6 new maternity shirts for just over $30!
We had a pretty bad dinner at Johnny Carinos (including a 65 minute wait), which really stunk since we don't get to go out to eat very often. boo. Should I write a letter?
Then we went to Yogurt Mountain...one of those frozen yogurt places where you add your own toppings....ymmmmmm!!! I had german chocolate cake yogurt, and Jeremy had chocolate covered strawberries yogurt! Rumer has it that Columbus is getting one too!!!

After all that we headed to a Roger Creager concert in a small bar in Birmingham. The concert was awesome! There was only about 50 people there, so we got to be front and center. We got to meet Roger Creager and shake his hand, which was super fun considering Jeremy has been listening to his music non-stop for 2 years. :) Jeremy got to take a picture with him too...I will upload that later.

We spent the night in a Marriott...and running on less than 5 hours sleep we drove back!!! We are getting too old to be up till 2 am!!! :)

Sorry...no pictures...we were too busy having fun in the big city!

Another Snow Day

We got another snow day! :) This has been a pretty cold and snowy winter for us in Mississippi! Working in an outpatient clinic, most patients don't show up on snowy days, and the schools are closed...so that make an easy day for me! A few weeks ago when it snowed, Jeremy got to ski- sort of- in our front yard. Brrrr...it is so cold here!!!
(sorry for the blurry picture)

What is Happening in the Shop

Jeremy has made huge progress on his airplane. He has his airplane blog, where he talks more about the technical aspect, but I thought I would post a few pictures of what has been happening in the shop. :)

This is an empennage, or the beginning of it. It is the tail section of an airplane, or more specifically, our RV7. :) The big long thing hanging on the wall is the horizontal part, and the work-in-progress on the table is the vertical part. These parts together (in combination with many other steps, I'm sure), make up the tail!

And that is what is going on in the shop.

Dogs on a Diet

Today Riley weighed in at the vet...and was a grand total of 95 pounds!!! Thats pretty big for a dog who was only supposed to be 35 pounds! Anyway, the vet put him on a diet...it is so crazy that a dog can be 10 pounds overweight from dog food! Not how I would like to get fat!

Speaking of fat, while we were at the vet this morning with Riley and Aileron...Rio got into a little trouble himself. Rio helped himself to a bag of skittles that was half full! And we are not talking about a small snack size bag...this was a BIG bag. And he ate every single one of them. You know his belly can't feel good. :)

I Robbed Rite Aid

Well, I really didn't rob Rite Aid, but I did get some AMAZING deals, and am still on a coupon high.

Basically I spent $37 dollars and got $40 in up+ points to us on another purchase...meaning I got tons of great stuff...AND MADE MONEY! I used manufacturers coupons, watched tons and tons of adperk videos, and bought the right items to get extra up+ points...and made out like a bandit. :) I'm going to show you some of what I bought and how much it cost (but I'm going to include my up+ points as cash, since it basically is!) When you buy so much of certain things you get more up+ points, and I got to use several Rite Ad coupons which brought my out of pocket total down. Thanks Kristen for all the pointers!!!

20 pairs of latex gloves...FREE! (Jeremy uses these a lot for airplane projects)

2 Jars of Jiff...$0.49 each

1 bag of diapers, 36 count...$5.99
Diswasher soap...FREE
10 bags of chex mix...$.050 each

2 boxes of dog treats...FREE!
4 funnels...$0.09 each
6 1.5 quarts of Edy's Ice Cream... $0.16 each!
Yeah for saving money! Anyone need ice cream?

5 months

Baby Noah is 5 months old and doing great. He is a little maniac in there, doing acrobatics all day while I am at work. This week my doctor put me on Zantac for miserable heartburn (probably not helped by the french fries and other fatty food on the cruise). I have also officially graduated to maternity pants full time (except for scrubs), and several tears were involved in that transition. Other than that, not much to report! Counting down till our little man makes his grand debut!

PS...It took me about 45 minutes to take a 5-month picture that didn't make me look like a whale! I wonder how long the 6-month picture will take!

Shutterfly Book #3

Our third Shutterfly book arrived in the mail! It is our home renovation book, and we are excited to be done with the renovation and have the photo book to remember it all! :) I love using Shutterfly...I simply make the 8x8 book, and wait for Shutterfly to e-mail me a coupon! So far, they have every time, and our little coffee table book is growing!!! :)
