7 Things Sunday

1.  Now that I am not buying diapers, and I have officially stocked up on 2T/3T clothes until next winter, I'm looking for a hobby of some sort.  I'm cutting back on couponing a bit...I have everything we need, and I don't want to spend money unnecessarily.  I have a lot of fun buying diapers and toddler clothes (weird, right?) so now I'm not sure what I'm going to get into.

2.  I'm having a little buyers regret on some bath towels/rugs that I bought.  There is nothing wrong with them...really nice and fluffy.  Just expensive.  Part of me keeps thinking "you could have gotten a better deal somewhere else" (especially with several BIG coupons available right now).  The other part of me keeps thinking that I could drive all over town trying to save $4.  And I've bought cheap towels before...and I regretted that big time after the first wash.  So hopefully I will forget all about the towels soon enough and just enjoy them.

3.  I put my resume out to another hospital online.  I am enjoying my job (its VERY different than anything I've done so far) , however it is just per diem (as needed), so I would like something else lined up in case they don't need me anymore.

4.  We had a great weekend.  Went to Phoenix on Friday night where as always, we jammed in as many activities as we possibly could.  Then on Sunday we hung out at home.  Back to Phoenix in 2 weeks to celebrate a few special birthdays.  It is SO much easier driving to and from Phoenix with 2 adults!  We made it there without any stops!  And on the way home, Noah though he was so cool cause he got to pee on a bush and on the tire.

5.  Today I struck out on church #5.  Ugh.  It is so frustrating.  I guess we are a little picky, but it doesn't seem like it would be too hard to find what we are looking for here in tis big city!  Some churches have been just okay, and some have been downright awkward or just hard to sit through.  We went to one a few weeks ago that was pretty good, just too late at night (Noah goes to bed at 7!).  We are going to keep our eye on that one for a possible earlier time or second service.  It is really frustrating though to strike out so many times.

6.  Sometimes Noah cracks me up.  He really likes to talk about my "compacks" (contacts) and how they go in my eyes.  He likes to watch me take them out and put them in.  Today I was moving a little slow after waking up from a nap.  We both made a bathroom trip, and I guess I was moving too slow for him because he said "stand up, pull your pants up".  :)  He also practices to himself "daddy, yes sir" and "mommy, yes ma'am".  And he knows "friday, stay home" (because I have off on Fridays and he gets to stay home in his underwear all day).  :)

7.  And finally, just a few pictures of the two guys in my life playing baseball:  :)

Happy Sunday!

Run or Dye

We did the Run or Dye Tucson.
SOOO much thanks to Terry and Ken for coming down to watch the little squirt so we could run.
It was fun, and it really didn't feel like 3.2 miles at all.

I don't know that we would do it again, mostly because it was expensive, but it was a good experience.
Jeremy is a good sport.
We walked/ran since we were running with friends (and their kids).

Check out the huuuuge lines of people at the starting lines!
They let us go 500-700 people at a time!
 A quick "before" picture:
And a little "selfie" after the race.
(I just learned that word, and I like it)

Side note:  I'm a little behind on blogging...I haven't gotten lame, just busy!

Canvas

This is a pretty bad picture.
I wish it showed how great these canvases turned out.

But I'm very happy with them.
Poor planning left me with one vertical and one horizontal picture.
And the colors are slightly different.
But when they are separated by the window, they look great.

Noah is fascinated by "big Noah" and "baby Noah".

ahhhh....some days go by so fast, and some days go by so slow.
Love that little munchkin.

Addendum to "Package"

Does it change anyones perspective on my "package" blog if this was in it?:

I opened up that package, just prior to dumping it in the garbage can, and this is what I found?

Mens size large
Womens v neck medium
4 T childs shirt.

SOOOO cute.  And I would be SO guilty to keep it!  Really, what's the difference between keeping the package for myself or tossing it?  It that more stealing?  Why does it come with so much more guilt?

So I sent it back to the company.
Mostly because I know who lived here before me, and they are a young couple with a 3 year old boy.
So I just can't deprive them of their purchase.

Should have just done the right thing to begin with.  :)

Package

I got this package last week.
It was addressed to someone else, at my address.
Its a team shirt of some sort.  Nothing special.

So what do I do with this thing?

I emailed the company to see what's up.
Maybe it was an address typo and it belongs to a next door neighbor.
The company said to open it and deal with the return package label.

I posted an ad on the base facebook page.
No one knows the person.
They said to bring it by the housing office and they can direct me from there.

I put it out at the mailbox with a "WRONG ADDRESS :)" label on it.
The mail person wrote back "not USPS, FED EX" on it.

So heres the thing.
THE STUPID PACKAGE IS NOT MY PROBLEM.
I didn't ask for it, I don't want to deal with it.

I don't want to drive it to Fed Ex.
And I just can't wait around waiting for Fed Ex to drive by.
I don't want to bring it to the housing office.
I don't want to open it and take any time to figure out where it does.

It seems so minor, but this package is totally putting me over the edge.
I'm so sick of looking at it.
It symbolizes my lack of free time, and all the other things I could/should be doing.
Its just another thing sitting on my counter that I don't want anything to do with.

Any suggestions?
I think Jeremy will be scared if I spend any more time crying about the package.

10 More Things

1.  My child is night potty training himself.  This shocked me, and is both a good thing and a bad thing.  I expected him to be in night pull ups for a year (or more).  So yes, its a great thing because it is a huge accomplishment, and it saves money.  Its bad though, because Noah sleeps 12 hours at night, and there is no way a kid can hold his pee that long.  So that leaves one of us responding to "peepee mommy!" every single night.  We go from dead asleep to running full speed down the hall.  We take him potty (he goes), and then attempt to go back to dead asleep.  BTW, very challenging.  It also means getting less sleep at night, so that is kinda a bummer, but I am very proud of him.

2.  Along those same lines...Noah has had two accidents at school today and two at school yesterday.  He got a new teacher last week, and I guess they are still learning him and his signs, but it is frustrating.  He stays home for days (and nights) at a time when he is home with us, and even out on the go, and on long trips.  There are fourteen kids in his class, so I can see how they might miss one here and there, but still frustrating.

3.  I went for a run this morning.  It is so hard for me to come home from a long day of work, play with N, put him down, and then go exercise.  I experimented this morning with an AM workout, and it was pretty good.  It freed me up to do a little couponing and relaxing.  BUT, it was really hard to get up before 6 this morning.

4.  Beagle is on the prowl right this minute.  I'm not sure what he is after specifically (food of some sort).  He just finished polishing off some packaging peanuts.  Jeremy did a google search, and they are not the dangerous kind, so thats good.

5.  I bought (with a good deal) two large canvas black and white prints of Noah.  I didn't realize I ordered one vertical and one horizontal until today, but I am still excited, and I'm sure they will look awesome together.  One came today and it is so nice!   I will post pictures when I get both.

6.  I sent my rings off to Shane Company to get cleaned and re-dipped.  Holy cow they are so sparkly!  I really need to keep up with them better, because they look so great when they are cleaned up.  Well worth the $15 that it took to send them up to Scottsdale.

7.  Riley has a large lump on the side of his neck.  We think it is a fatty pad, a lipoma, but there is no way to know for sure without lots of testing.  Its rather large...but he doesn't seem to be in pain or uncomfortable, so we are going to just watch it for now.  Riley is really a great dog!

8.  The Dollar Tree seems to be discontinuing the sale of Noah's special "friends", his plastic Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald figurines.  I hope hope hope not, but after checking two dollar trees in two days, I'm coming up dry.  ;)  The search is not over yet though,

9.  Since I've been working a lot of extra hours these days, Jeremy has taken on several additional house tasks.  Some were delegated, and some were volunteered.  Turns out he is a good cook (I make the weekly menu, and he starts whatever we have scheduled), a good grocery shopper, a good vaccumer...the list goes on and on!  Although it is hard to be at work that much and still maintain a normal household, I know this is a short term thing, so I'm trying to keep a positive attitude about it.  I'm so grateful to Jeremy for doing so much to help around the house!

10.  We are doing a color run this weekend (Run or Dye- Tucson).  I'm looking forward to a morning of fun.  Jeremy's parents are coming down for the weekend, so we are excited for a fun filled weekend!  Wish it was here already.  :)

Happy Tuesday!

Big Boy Bed Update

An update picture of my little boy in his big boy bed:

It is going...okay.
He has stayed in his bed.
And he went down soooo much better.
Very excited and proud of his new bed.

But he is still crying some at night.
I know he has molars coming in, so that could be some of it.
He could be scared.
Really I don't know.
Wish this kid came with a manual.

On a personal note, having a kid in a big boy bed really creeps me out.
I'm definitely sleeping a lot lighter than I used to.
Not so much the staring-kid thing.
Mainly because he doesn't know how to open doors yet.
But I just don't like the kid-on-the-loose idea.
Who knows what he could get into while I sleep.
It is a scary, scary thought.

Big Boy Bed

So this is an awful picture.
I know.
(iphone with flash).
But you can get the idea.

My boy has been moved to a big boy bed.
A big boy, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Who could ask for more?

I swore swore swore I was going to keep him in a crib till he was 15.
But a little rough patch in going to and sleeping through the night prompted a spur of the moment change.
I'm not committed to it.
It is just a see-how-it-goes kind of thing.

And so far, so good.
Another big boy bed post tomorrow.

Prayers of a Child

Going to bed has been a little bit of a struggle lately.
And so has getting dressed.
And going to school.
And pretty much lots of other things throughout the day.

But one little light in the bed time routine is Noah's nightly prayers.
I've always been the one to say the prayers, but lately, I have been letting him fill in things that he is thankful for or things that he wants to pray for.
I don't think he knows the difference, but hey, you gotta start somewhere.
Also, praying for lots and lots of things is a great way to stall bed time. ;)
Or so I've heard.

These are some of the things he prays for:
g-ma
popi
papa
grammy
grammy's toys
rhinos
bouncy castles
tigers
row row row your boat
ducks
"oh oh farm" (old mcdonald)
charlotte

...the list goes on and on.
Jeremy and I are always blown away by the innocence.
What goes through a child's mind...

Daddy Love

Here is a picture of N and his daddy since he came home.
Probably more to come now that my computer is all cleaned up.

N has been so thrilled to have Jeremy around.
Sometimes that transition from being gone to being home can be a little hard.

Generally he says "daddy do it" when it comes to reading books, and snuggling before bed.

I'm not too jealous though..."mommy lap" is always a top pick in the morning.
This morning I had to hide a laugh when Noah said "I don't like daddy".
After a little correction though, he quickly changed his story to "i lub you daddy".

On a side note, Noah is trying hard to figure out who "Jamie" is.
And I think he is confused if Jeremy is really "daddy" or "hun".

There is a zoo trip and a nice long nap planned for tomorrow.
Can't wait.  ;)

All About Me

A few things happening in my life lately...

1.  I'm watching America's got Talent.  I took a little break while Jeremy was gone.  Its a little slow...lots of commercials, and just so much more fun when you have someone to watch it with.  If I had my mom's remote control skills, I could probably watch it a lot faster though.  :)

2.  I have about 4+ loads of clean laundry sitting around my feet folded and ready to put away.  Seems like it just. keeps. coming.  Truthfully, I really do like doing laundry.  If you have to do a chore, laundry is one of my favorite.  Now I just need to carry it up and put it away before more comes.

3.  I saw a dr this morning about my headaches.  I feel really good about the plan.  I'm loaded up on drugs that are safe to take while watching Noah, but still strong enough to get rid of a migraine.  Now I have to be stingy enough to make it last for when I really need it!

4.  I did a little couponing this weekend.  Maybe it wasn't the best deals ever, but I was getting the itch. :)  I get a little annoyed on the base yard sale facebook page when I see all of the couponers selling stuff they got for free.  I get it.  I understand wanting to make money.  It just kinda bugs me.  Can't really explain it.

5.  When Jeremy got home I needed a break from N.  Really bad.  He was making me nuts.  So I picked up a few extra shifts at work and started doing an evening run, and Jeremy has been getting him out the door several mornings and putting him to bed.  Heres the weird thing:  I totally miss that kid!  I'm not used to him asking for daddy instead of mommy!  Glad I have Friday off.  We have a lot of bonding to do.

6.  My computer is cleaned off, and I am ready to load up on more pictures of my little man.  Hopefully this old mac will start working a little better and a little faster.  I've definitely become more of an ipad girl in the last year or so.

7.  Lastly, I've been writing (bragging) about how my kid is potty trained during the day.  It is going awesome.  Now he has been trying to night time potty train himself, which is not really working.  Last night he called for me when he has to pee, so went running in there and took him to the potty.  Turns out he had already gone (must have woke up during).  The whole process of lights on, pull up down, sitting on cold toilet....really woke him up, and then he proceeded to fuss for the next hour.  I took a turn, then Jeremy did, and then he slept.  So it was a little rough.  And if I had to guess, there will be a lot more where that came from.

So how about that...a blog post about me!?!?

Time Flies

Just a few pictures to show how time flies.

Its hard to believe he is who he is.
A full blown toddler.
And then some.

I LOVE that belly.
I could stare at it all day.
Especially when it is full of milk and sloshing all over the place when he runs.

I always said I wouldn't be "that mom" who says "where has the time gone?"
But where has the time gone!??!?!?!
