One house

Just a real quick blog tonight.

We are the proud owners of ONE house!  Our charleston house is officially no longer ours!
The house closed today, so I can officially stop asking jeremy "have you heard anything about the house today?"
Now I can move on to asking him about updates on this house.

Oh yeah, did I mention that we have a contract (and a despoit!!!!!) on this house????
More news on this to come.

Or maybe that is just me, who is still recovering from having an almost 8 pound baby sit on my bladder for 9 months.

(We skipped halloween tonight because of a cranky kid, so we will have to stay home and eat the candy ourselves).  Or maybe just me.

Money Saving Date

We had a date tonight!

It was a date to celebrate our Charleston house closing.

Which didn't close.

Ahhh...missing some paperwork (not on our part).

So maybe tomorrow or Wednesday. 

Boo.

So we celebrated nothing,

And it was awesome.

It wasn't intended to be a money saving event.

It wasn't until we were in the car on the way home that we realized it was!

We had dinner.

Which didn't save us anything.

But it tasted really good.

We made a quick run in to Rite Aid.

We needed some medicine, which happened to be B1G1 free ($26), and I used $26 expiring up+, so basically got $52 in meds we needed for free!

Then we went to Walgreens.  Wipes.  A lot of wipes.

Normally $7.99 each.  Got them for $2.59 each.

We have to send one package per month to daycare...so we go through a lot of wipes.

Lastly we ran in to Old Navy, where Halloween costumes were 75% off! 

This dragon was $5.99.  Originally $20!

Too much.

And I really wasn't sure if it was a dragon or a dino, but the tag said "dragon", so now I know.

We were headed out the door without it, when I remembered the Old Navy Ap, which sometimes scans a $5 off anything. 

I scanned that thing about 6 times, and I got it!!!

So we went back in and snagged the dragon for $1.06!  It is a 2T, so maybe dress-up for next year, but who could resist.  

 The dino was WAY cuter then the pumpkin I bought this year for $2.26!!!

But still, the pumpkin is pretty cute.  :)

But I'm pretty biased, cause he is my adorable child.

Total Date Savings: Over $100!!! Not bad for not planning!

Looking for Advise

I'm looking for a little advise.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

My baby is LEAKING out of his diapers at night.

Every night.

Out the top.

We have tried sucking the tabs in till they overlap.

We have tried going up a diaper size, but the 5's are too big in the legs.

We have tried over night diapers.
I'm tried different brands, but I'm pretty particular to Huggies.
Also, I have a huge stash.

Noah sleeps 12 hours.  (Yes, I know, isn't that wonderful!!!)

And that diaper is just so jam packed in the morning that it overflows.

Okay, so I will admit I allow him a full sippy cup of milk at night.

And I'll be honest, I'm not changing that.

But I am open for any other suggestions.

Does anyone have any experience with diaper doublers?

Or maybe using a cloth diaper cover?

Let me know!!

Addendum:  After posting, I continued to research, and I found a suggestion about folding under the front/top portion of the diaper.  genius!!!  I'm TOTALLY trying that tomorrow.

Mississippi News

1.  We are moving to Kansas!  Okay, okay, so it is not definite, but it does look like this is the location that we are being sent to.  Of course, anything can change, and there are a few kinks to work out yet, but it does seem that Wichita will be our new home.  I do wish it was more certain, but I will take even a glimmer of concrete-ness (is that a word?) in my life right now.  I'm going to start doing some preliminary research at jobs, daycares, churches, homes, pediatricians,  etc.  All the good stuff that comes with moving.  Jeremy is super pumped about the Wichita job...working in a T6 factory.  An airplane builders dream come true.

2.  Our Charleston house is closing on Monday.  Hopefully.  Everything seems to be in order for the big day, so we will see.  Many people have put in a lot of time and work into this closing.

3.  Our family healthy eating plan is going great.  I am being out-salad-ed big time by Jeremy.  We are making time to exercise as a family when possible, and it is good.  Sometimes I still sneak and pre-eat, but for the most part we are doing pretty good.

4.  Tonight I borrowed a carpet cleaner from my next door neighbor.  I am still mentally gagging.  I'm taking about so much dog hair and dirt.  I think the grossest part was getting the carpet cleaner itself cleaned up.  But my little rugs are nice and clean now.  A few months ago, Noah projectile puked out of his crib and onto his little area rug.  It stunk, and I scrubbed and scrubbed.  But now it is clean, and I'm really happy.

5.  Poor Noah is getting his fourth molar, and is also getting at least one canine.  He is being pretty tough, but I am giving him popsicles and Advil and just getting through it.  I do blame the teething for some of his new little attitude, but I'm not sure exactly how much.

6.   I'm going away for the night.  To a continuing ed class.  In early November.  It will be my second night away from Noah.  It is not like I'm afraid to be separated from him...but there is just something about a mama's touch that my baby needs.  :)  Technically it is only one night, but it is more like 48 hours in Noah time, since he will be sleeping before I get home.  I will miss him, but it is a good opportunity for me.

7.  We are also taking a mini family vacation to Tennessee to take Noah to get his first stamp!!!  We rented a little cabin (two bedroom!!!), and we are just going to relax and check out some of the fall color changes.  :)

8.  I'm sure there is more, but I have 9 minutes till my own bedtime, so I better get brushing and mouth-washing!  :)

This Weekend

Okay, okay...where to start?

We have had our house on the market for about 2 weeks.  

In the last 6 days, we have had 3 showings.

All went well.

I'll spare you the nitty gritty on the blog for the sake of our sale process.

But I will tell you that this process has been surprisingly challenging so far.

I have a lot of "feelings".

And it is hard being on the waiting side of things.

And I'm SICK AND TIRED of cleaning.

I've cleaned more in one week than I have in 4 years.

Totally not kidding about that.

And I'm tired of evacuating the house.

But probably not as tired of evacuating as my next door neighbor is of having us.

So such is life for us right now.  

Also, Noah seems to have hit a bit of an interesting stage this weekend.

Hopefully it is fleeting, but somehow I doubt it.

He has been a somewhat strong willed little booger.

A lot of yelling.

I might be regretting getting rid of the paci.

A lot of tantrums.

Lots of throwing.

I took it about 45 seconds before that metal bowl came flying at my head.

It really, really hurt.

And he had no clue what he had done.

And about 24 hours late the baby monitor also hit my head.

He wasn't trying to hurt, or really even hit me, but he did.

And I was pretty mad about it.

But again, just another challenge for us.

Oh well, that is this week in summary.

Pumpkin Patch a Year Later

I've been pretty slack in the blog department this month.

Guess we have a lot going on.

I'll update more on the house progress later.  

Tonight we enjoyed the pumpkin patch.

Well, Jeremy and I did.

We had to work really hard to get a smile out of this fella.

And he sure wasn't putting his snack cup down.

He really did have a good time though.  :)

Just doesn't look like it.

Also, I added in a few pictures of him at the patch from last year. 

Wow, what a different kid!

 

Big Day

Today was a big day for us.

Looking back now, it doesn't seem like so much, but it was.

We had our first house showing today.

It went really well. 

The guy seemed interested, so we will see.

I feel like we will know when it is the right offer with the right buyer.

So needless to say, I scrambled around prepping for the showing.

Vacuuming, scrubbing, straightening, washing.

And it paid off, because the showing went well.

Directly after that, Jeremy and I loaded up and headed to town to get our Charleston house paperwork notarized.

We made it 20 minutes before they closed.

With luck on our side, the paperwork will make it where it needs to go so that the closing can happen on Friday.

Whew.

When we got home from the notary, people were here to pick up the hot tub.

It was a hot item...10 e-mails in one day!

It was free, because it wasn't working, and because we have put too much money into it, considering we are moving.

So we got that guy all loaded up and out the back gate.

Meanwhile, we got Noah ready for bed, tucked in, and sound asleep.

We made dinner.

It wasn't MC, but it was pretty scary.

A lean cuisine for me, and a english muffin pizza for Jeremy.

Then we turned on the debate.

Which is stressful enough in itself.

Without considering everything else we have going on this week.

16 Months

wouldn't crack a smile

but love this little man anyway

Busy Bags

My sister inspired me to begin working on my "toddler busy bags".

I wanted to build up a big bag swap with my friends, but there wasn't really a ton on interest.

So I headed out to the dollar store and got my supplies.

Doing it alone has cost me about $1.25 a bag.

I'm SOOO happy with the bags that I've made so far.

It really hasn't taken too long to do.

I have realized that Noah is VERY young for the majority of my bags, but he will grow into them, and hopefully enjoy them for a while to come.

A Glimpse

My mom sent this picture to me the other day:
